News of January & February 2018

Hello again all you good People!

Thank you for all the kind messages following the death of Chris' Dad (Bob Henggeler Snr.) mid January.

Bob Jnr. kept things moving on Kachana during our wettest January on record, while Chris, Jacqueline and Rebecca represented the Kachana-Henggelers at the gathering in Switzerland. Yet again time went by far too fast...

February brought us more rain and nature remains in full swing, keeping us on our toes as we continue our learning.

Last year Rebecca updated information on our Kachana Wild Donkey Project. It seems we are not the only people who question the departmental wisdom of using public funds to eradicate species that may well be in a position to provide us with valuable eco-system services. Thank you, Arian, for a link to a great article that paints a bigger picture: "From feral camels to ‘cocaine hippos’, large animals are rewilding the world".

Please enjoy our photo selection for January and February!

We hope that March is a great month for you all.

Greetings from Kachana!
