News of February 2016

Hello dear Kachana-Friends!

News of the month: He asked her… she said “Yes.”

Bob and Nadia's engagement!

February, statistically our wettest month, brought with it 155mm of rain, visitors from Switzerland, Germany and southern WA and also many hot windy days.

In a year like this we need to prepare for wild-fire during the drier months. With nowhere near enough animals (wild, feral and domesticated) to cycle the vegetation, we burn fire-breaks and mosaics. This way we at least ensure some shelter, food and habitat for birds and animals if we do get late dry-season fires. Experience has taught us that on average this happens every three years!

May March be a great month for you all,

Greetings from Kachana
